Benjamin Zumpfe

Benjamin Zumpfe, B.A. was born in 1995 in Vienna (Austria). At the age of six he started taking piano  lessons from Johann Kitzbichler, later from Dan Kajetanowicz. In 2014 he graduated with honors from  Musikgymnasium Wien. He attended masterclasses of Prof. Roland Batik (2015: scholarship „Musik der  Jugend“), Prof. Alma Sauer (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien) and Prof. Stan Ford  (Mozarteum Salzburg).  

He received first prizes (performance as well as composition) at national competitions (“Prima La Musica”  and “Jugend Komponiert“). In 2015 he gave concerts in the context of the „Young Hearts For Music“-Tour  (EMCY) in Austria and Germany. From 2015 onward he has been studying Composition with Prof. Herbert  Lauermann and Prof. Detlev Müller-Siemens (student of G. Ligeti and O. Messiaen) at Universität für Musik  und darstellende Kunst Wien where he also majored in Piano Pedagogy with Prof. Michael Rydholm (BA 

graduation with honors 2019). In 2017 he started his third major studies in Piano Performance (Prof.  Johannes Kropfitsch) at Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien. In 2018 he played at Carte  Blanche at Musikverein Wien and founded his piano duo „In Fide“ with Cansu Özdamar, with whom he  frequently gives recitals in Austria and Turkey. With his piano duo, he won the competition of „musica  juventutis“ in 2020, which enabled the duo a concert in the Wiener Konzerthaus. At another audition in 2020  he was chosen to play at a Bösendorfer-Salonkonzert.
