Oliver Bailey Dyb
Oliver Bailey Dyb is a Norwegian violinist currently concluding his studies with Prof. Ernst Kovacic at Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien. He came to Vienna as an exchange student in 2019 to complete his master’s, started with Prof. Marianne Thorsen in Trondheim, Norway. There, he plays in the Bovin string quartet and the jazz/fusion group Sondre Ferstad Ensemble. With the Trondheim Soloists chamber orchestra, he has played, recorded and toured extensively, in Norway and abroad, since 2015. He has also had an internship with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra.
Between his hometown Ålesund and Trondheim, Oliver established himself as a freelancer while studying, undertaking a variety of gigs and recording sessions, performing with church music, theatre, opera and chamber music festivals. In his hometown Ålesund he plays in the irish folk fun group Elfap, and the “coastal jazz” family band Dyb & Dyb.
