Music Composition Style Study

Instructor: Danial Derakhshan

Students analyze music from roughly 1700 through the late nineteenth century across different historical eras, to learn the basic tools of composition. Based on that analysis, students write their own small- and medium-scale pieces in those styles — a chorale, a fugue, and two sonatas, alongside other compositional exercises.
